A few things coming up...

I signed up for a silkscreen workshop in Coronado Studios of Austin Texas, I'll be working with other ACC students to make silkscreen prints of a piece I designed...

This is the design I picked, I'm most likely going to do the top one, as it will be easier to print. (And this is m first time printing silkscreen...)

I also finished my Montgomery Coffee branding... I'll take pictures when I get it back from my professor.

First Post...

I made this blog a long time ago intending to keep a little log of things I'm making/designing. I guess now's as good a time as ever to start. Up first is Design Communications 2 Project 1: Logo and branding for a company of my own choice/making.

I'm pretty well into this project already, so here's what I have so far... Mongomery Coffee is a chain of coffee shops founded by World War 2 Veteran, Joe Montgomery. After traveling the world with the armed forces of America, he returned home a changed man; slightly addled by the sights of battle, and with a newfound love for the noble drink, he started a coffee business focused on bringing the world's finest coffees to the American Public. Montgomery Coffee serves their drinks without offering any additive such as sugar or cream (unless the coffee requires such additives, in which case they are added by baristas) so as not to "destroy the flavor and integrity of the coffee" (Quoted from Mr. Montgomery himself)

The general design of stationary and logo will reflect World War 2 documents, aged and fallen into disrepair. There will also be a general disregard for the style that is usually associated with coffee, being "Green," clean, and fancy. Even though Montgomery and Starbucks share a seal for a logo, M.C. will have an all over "dirty" feel to it.

I'm planning on using a real carved stamp on my stationary and business card... Carved it today and here's the result...
